Volkswagen to axe combustion engines in Europe by 2035; Australian arm opens door to more hybrid and electric vehicles

Volkswagen will cease sales of internal combustion-engined vehicles in Europe by 2035, an executive of the marque has confirmed – though petrol and diesel sales in other markets will continue for a "good deal longer", despite positive signs from Volkswagen Australia that new fuel quality legislation will pave the way for more plug-in vehicles Down Under.

Electric car powered by poo unveiled by Queensland sewage treatment company

A Queensland sewage treatment company has unveiled its latest electric car powered by human waste. Four years after introducing an electric Mitsubishi hatchback powered by poo, the firm Urban Utilities has put its second electric car on the road and called it “Number Two”. The Hyundai Kona electric SUV even has the registration plates “NMBR2S” (number twos is rhyming slang for poo, in case you weren't aware).
