Toyota opens Victoria's first hydrogen production and storage facility

Toyota has opened Victoria’s first commercial hydrogen production, storage, and refuelling facility, at the site of its former manufacturing plant in Altona. A 200kW electrolyser – which draws voltage from an 87kW solar system, 100kW battery, and the mains grid – is used to 'decompose' water into hydrogen and oxygen, and, according to Toyota, this can produce up to 80kg of the zero-emission fuel each day.

Electric car powered by poo unveiled by Queensland sewage treatment company

A Queensland sewage treatment company has unveiled its latest electric car powered by human waste. Four years after introducing an electric Mitsubishi hatchback powered by poo, the firm Urban Utilities has put its second electric car on the road and called it “Number Two”. The Hyundai Kona electric SUV even has the registration plates “NMBR2S” (number twos is rhyming slang for poo, in case you weren't aware).
