Mini Cooper S long-term review: Farewell

They say all good things must come to an end. Well, I’ve spent three glorious months with our Mini Cooper S long-term loan and it’s time for us to part ways. The Cooper S we’ve been testing is the mid-range offering in the Mini line-up – it’s front-wheel drive, with a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Convertibles exist in a strange space in the motoring world. The people who buy them aren't necessarily enthusiasts, like sports car owners, but they care enough about their car to buy an inherently compromised vehicle. The entire Mini range exists in a similar sphere. Expensive, small and trendy, the Anglo-Deutsch brand is reliant on buyers making a decision with their hearts, not their heads. That means the 2019 Mini Cooper Convertible is a niche car competing in a niche segment.

Electric car powered by poo unveiled by Queensland sewage treatment company

A Queensland sewage treatment company has unveiled its latest electric car powered by human waste. Four years after introducing an electric Mitsubishi hatchback powered by poo, the firm Urban Utilities has put its second electric car on the road and called it “Number Two”. The Hyundai Kona electric SUV even has the registration plates “NMBR2S” (number twos is rhyming slang for poo, in case you weren't aware).
