It's not cheap, given the same fundamental powertrain and transmission package is available for less, but the Beats offers all the Polo's best assets in a package that'll no doubt appeal strongly to people who want to stand out a bit more than is possible in the Comfortline or R-Line.

The people who buy them aren't necessarily enthusiasts, like sports car owners, but they care enough about their car to buy an inherently compromised vehicle. The entire Mini range exists in a similar sphere. Expensive, small and trendy, the Anglo-Deutsch brand is reliant on buyers making a decision with their hearts, not their heads. 2021 MG ZS EV long-term review: Team feedback
