2019 Mini Electric teased

Mini has released a pair of sketches showing components that will feature on the upcoming all-electric version of the Hatch, scheduled for launch in 2019. The first image (above) shows the new model's front grille, while the second (below) shows the futuristic alloy wheel design – both largely unchanged from the Mini Electric concept (bottom) shown last year.

Convertibles exist in a strange space in the motoring world. The people who buy them aren't necessarily enthusiasts, like sports car owners, but they care enough about their car to buy an inherently compromised vehicle. The entire Mini range exists in a similar sphere. Expensive, small and trendy, the Anglo-Deutsch brand is reliant on buyers making a decision with their hearts, not their heads. That means the 2019 Mini Cooper Convertible is a niche car competing in a niche segment.

Electric car powered by poo unveiled by Queensland sewage treatment company

A Queensland sewage treatment company has unveiled its latest electric car powered by human waste. Four years after introducing an electric Mitsubishi hatchback powered by poo, the firm Urban Utilities has put its second electric car on the road and called it “Number Two”. The Hyundai Kona electric SUV even has the registration plates “NMBR2S” (number twos is rhyming slang for poo, in case you weren't aware).
