GM considering proposal to shut Holden office and switch to independent importer - report

Holden's head office could be closed by its parent company General Motors and switch to importing cars via an independent distributor, according to a confidential proposal revealed by the Australian Financial Review newspaper. UK-based firm Inchcape — the distributor of Subaru, Peugeot and Citroen cars in Australia — has reportedly approached General Motors to take over the distribution of Holden cars.
